Video Demo for Quick-Ray Manual Tissue Microarrayer |
Quick-Ray®, a tissue arrayer, is a patented time saving device
manufactured using the latest state-of-the art technology that
allows the researcher to assemble in order, tissue specimens of
multiple patients on one slide.
On present, this tissue arrayer process is the preferred method used
in pathological research. The high performance efficiency of our
Quick-Ray® has helped many top researchers to prepare their tissue
arrays. Our system
enables the preparation and analysis of multiple samples of the same
tissue or multiple tissue samples of different patients all in one
slide.
Furthermore, Quick-Ray® not only reduces in sixty times the use of
reagents, working time and human resource to prepare the arrays; but
also can be applied to almost any tissue processing and analyzing
needed for immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, FISH and in
situ PCR.
Quick-Ray® decreases the current time to create Blocks and Slides in
a very innovative way. One lab technician (non- histologist) can
process about 20 arrays in less than two hours using our system.
Automated Tissue Microarrayer
Our
computer aided Quick Ray Master® is the ultimate automated version
of our Quick Ray® that has integrated a PC running under Windows XP®
to our tissue microarrayer. The operation is with a touch screen LCD
monitor and has multiple connection port with four USB, one LAN
interface for internet and one DVI port for external display
connection.
This
versatile connection ports allows saving image files and reports of
the recipient blocks to your USB external memory chips and send this
information via LAN connection to any external PC and even through
the internet to any place. All this is possible at the tip of your
fingers by touching our LCD monitor with all the menus and functions
keys.
Quick
Ray Master® helps the researchers to decrease the time and labor in
creating the array blocks, releasing time for other activities, by
using our pre-made recipient blocks. The function of the rotational
tip module is to offer automatic change of the desired tip of the
researcher’s option to choose from 3 tips sized 1mm, 2mm, 3mm.

Manual Tissue Microarrayer
The Quick-Ray® product line is to use in the field of histopathology
to fabricate Tissue Micro-Arrays (TMA).
Tissue Micro-Array is a square matrix of individual tissues sampled
from one or more donor tissue blocks. This array can then be
sectioned using the microtome machine and placed unto a glass slide
for staining.
Each individual tissue within the array can then be examined under
the microscope and compared with the other pieces of tissues present
on the slide. Tissue Micro-Arrays are principally used for research
purposes.

|
|
1. Place the reference slide and/or the donor block on microscope stage to position the interest tissue area and mark with an oil pen. |
|
|
2. Extract (punch) the oil pen marked tissue from the donor block by using Quick-Ray® needle. |
|
|
3. Deliver the extracted tissue into the intended holes of the recipient block(disposable base) pre-made by Unitma™ with Quick-Ray® needle. |
|
|
4. Put the recipient block(disposable base) into the embedding mold with cutting section faced down and incubate it in Oven at 60 °C for 30 minutes. |
|
|
5.
Take out the recipient block(disposable base) when it turns
completely transparent.
Pour the paraffin (64°C)
and place the cassette array on top of the paraffin.
|
|
6. Solidify the block in cold plate |
|
|
|
7. Cutting (microtome) |
|
In case of using the automated Quick Ray Master, Repeat the above steps replacing steps 2 and 3 |
|
|
|
2. Insert 5 donor blocks and one recipient block into the Quick Ray Master |
|
|
3. Extract the tissue from donor block and deliver it into the hole of recipient block by using the software of Quick Ray Master. |

How to Order
Quick-Ray®
set comes with one puncher, 4 tips of different sizes (1,2,3 and 5mm
diameter), 1 recipient block of
each size, a base mold (to hold the recipient block while the tissue
cores are transferred to it), and a guide
for 1mm recipient block.
Extra tips can be purchased separately as required when the tips
lose their sharpness or gets damaged by miss-handling.
More base molds, disposable
pre-made recipient blocks, and guides for 1mm blocks are also
available.
