The Free Histology Encyclopedia Welcome to HistoWiki, the free-content histology encyclopedia that anyone can edit |
HistoWiki is a free-content, Histology reference website written collaboratively by readers around the world. Our goal is to build the world’s largest, the most comprehensive and up-to-date encyclopedia about everything related to Histology.
HistoWiki is a Wiki, a web application that allows users to add content, as on an internet forum, but also allows anyone to edit the content. This makes it very easy for anyone to share their knowledge and wisdom.
The project was started in June 2005, by IHC World. It was inspired by Wikipedia, a free, open source encyclopedia, and by the interest of many Histology students and professionals in a website that provides timely and useful reference information about Histology.
All of the site’s content is covered by a Creative Commons License. Contributions remain the property of their creators, while the copyleft licensing ensures that the content will always remain freely distributable and reproducible so no copyright infringement is intended.
Almost all visitors may edit HistoWiki’s articles and have their changes be instantly displayed. HistoWiki’s authors need not have any expertise or formal qualifications in the subjects which they edit, and users are warned that their contributions may be “edited mercilessly and redistributed at will” by anyone who so wishes. Its articles are not controlled by any particular user or editorial group. It is our belief that collaboration among users will improve articles over time.
Don’t be afraid to edit pages on HistoWiki - anyone can edit, and we encourage users to be bold! Find something that can be improved, either in content, grammar or formatting, then fix it. Worried about breaking HistoWiki? Don’t be: it can always be fixed or improved later. So go ahead, edit an article and help make HistoWiki the best Histology reference book on the Internet!
Editing is very easy:
