I used clone 1A4 EPOS labeled from DAKO to stain mouse teratoma grown in NOD-SCID mice. AEC+ is the chromagen. Note the intense and specific staining of the smooth muscle cells surrounding an area of differentiated cells within the tumor

Mouse anti-human EGFR - example of PRECOMPLEXING
This is human tumor grown in mouse. I wanted to stain for EGFR w/ a mouse monoclonal antibody. Standard procedure would be staining mouse on mouse which would give background. Instead I precomplexed my mouse anti-human primary Ab w/ anti-mouse IgG-biotin secondary in a tube. Then (with some additional blocking) I added it to the mouse tissue and developed with Streptavidin-HRP and DAB+. Observe the EGFR positivity in the epidermoid tumor & no staining in the mouse supportive stroma.

Pan-endothelial cell antigen in FFPE Mouse Kidney
Vessel IHC of FFPE mouse kidneys using a rat anti-mouse pan endothelial cell antigen antibody. Developed with AEC+. Note the staining of peri-tubular endothelium but an absence of glomerular immunoreactivity. This patchy staining represents a major problem with using this clone broadly

Martius Scarlet Blue - Normal Mouse Bone Marrow
This is normally a stain for fibrin. In this case I stained normal FFPE mouse bone marrow for MSB. Note the red staining muscle, blue staining bone, black bone marrow and virtual absence of red fibrin in the healthy bone marrow proper.
