Cell storage
« on: February 17, 2006, 01:06:06 PM »
I'm looking for the best way to fix and store human bone marrow cells in pellet form.  The cells need to be periodically used for immunochemistry specifically using AMCA labeled antibody for viewing plasma cells along with the ability to perform fluorescence in situ hybridaztion (FISH) with DNA probes.  We cuurently make cytospin slides and store in the freezer however we are limited in our storage and the slides are starting to deteriorate.

Hi Scott,
We are starting to search isolated tumor cells in bone marrow of breast cancer patients, using PCR and immunocitochemistry...
Do you fix the cytospins before store at - 80°? What kind of fixative do you use? Do you collect serum too? Do you use PCR too?

Thanks
Carlos
