ST2 receptor is a specific cellular marker for T-helper 2 cells from T-helper 1

Lots of people study T-helper 2 cells.  ST2 is associated with diseases such as asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, rheumatoid arthritis, collagen vascular disease and septic shock.  It acts as a receptor for the cytokine IL-33.  It is present as four isoforms: ST2L, sST2, ST2V, ST2LV.  As a receptor it is thought to boost the inflammatory response creating the production of cytokines.

That was a very interesting and informative article about how the ST2 which is associated with many diseases like asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, etc, and acts as a receptor for the cytokine IL-33! This points out how the ST2 receptor is a specific cellular market for T-helper 2 cells from T-helper 1! I am sure that this will be very useful information for researchers and scientists to be used in many of their studies and research projects!!
