F4/80 staining

Dear All,
I'm going to do F4/80 staining on mouse brains that have been fixed in formalin at 4C for more than 24 hours (~40 hours). I know it's not supposed to be that long. However, since I don't have any more mice, do you have any advice on how to make these tissues work for F4/80 immunostaining? Any special recipe for permeabilization of this overly-fixed tissue? Thanks so much..

40 hour fixation is not too long. With antigen retrieval, you will be able to make it to work. Refer to this protocol for more information.
