Period clock gene 1 (Per1) antibody

Hello to everyone,
who can recommend me or knows , from which company antibody from clock gene Per1 are working  properly in PFA 4% post mortem fixed tissues.
I ve already cheked antibody from, Alpha Diagnostics, Santa Cruz and Merck.
In Santa Cruiz and Alpha Diagnostics instead of nuclear staining it is cytoplasmic staining and in some preparations  rabsolutely no staining at all. :shock:

Hi mahavishna, I'm using PER1 from Reppert's lab I'm teting the specificity of it right now, they publish a lot with thia ab so it should be specific.
they are good people if your ask them probably you get a sample.

mahavishna, I already tried Reppert's antibody and it didn't work fine i found signal all over the brain.
The alpha diagniostics antibody has crossreactivity with others clock proteins so is a piece of junk.
now I'm looking for a good Per1 antibody too.

Hi everyone!

I have tested Santa Cruz, ADI and Reppert's anti-Per1, in paraformaldehyde 1% and 4%. There is no signal, not even in the suprachiasmatic nucleus, which one is the master clock in mammals and where Per1 is abundantly expressed... I'd be very grateful if anyone could help me! Thanks

Hi there, I know that the  Alpha Diagnostics' one is crap, I didn't know Santa Cruz and Merck were producing one. ABcam has one too but didn't tested.
The reppert's one is not working in my hands.
I'm working with brains, 4% PFA (8-12 hs) no perfussion at all.
let me know if you find a one one, I have to confirm that the PER1:GFP mice  are reporting PER1, the Silver's group did the experiment using reppert's antibody and they claim the GFP signal is reporting the PER1 expression but I'm not sure about the quality of that piece of work.

ABcam PER1 is crap too, I used a null per1 animal and I got signal all over the brain.
