Title: Basic IH analysis

I have some basic questions about how to compare staining among brain sections.  In order to measure GFAP, (either intensity or area that is above a defined threshold), do you need to be consistent in how you capture each picture?  Does you picture exposure time need to be the same for every picture?  How do you control for day-to-day differences in staining intensity that are not a result of changing GFAP expression?
