Title: Mass spec - receptor variants in tumors
Post by: sutree on September 22, 2010, 12:03:22 AM
Hello all, I have a prelim coming up where I need to present on methods out of my jurisdiction.

I would like to take samples of primary tumor and seek out the different variants of two well-characterized receptors that are found in them.

Can I take a tissue lysate, purify for my protein of interest and run a mass spec for this?  Will this tell me the different variations that are present in the tumor?

Any advice or direction is appreciated, cheers.
