Title: IF/WB in one brain
Post by: DLindquist on March 28, 2014, 08:05:24 PM
Hi. If I can, I'd like to do WB in one hemisphere and IF in the other of rat brain. The issue is sacrifice, we use dissection (following decap) for blots and perfusion for IF. Not sure the two can be reconciled. Does anyone know if possible or can suggest a procedure? Thanks.

Depending on what you are staining for by IF, you could try drop-fixing the half brain for IF. I've used this technique for mouse brains. We typically drop fix overnight.
