Formaldehyde and Autofluorescence
« on: August 08, 2005, 01:21:22 PM »
I am very new at staining with monoclonal antibodies.  I am staining several tissues with an anti-cytokeratin or anti-vimentin antibody.  I have fixed the tissues in formaldehyde for 18 hours and the slides are parrafin embedded.  Does anyone know how likely I am to have autofluorescence if I do not use Sodium Borohydride :?:

The best way is to check the slides under a fluorescence microscope before staining.
