hy together, i've got a question. i'm looking for an antibody wich helps me to distinguish(ihc)  stomach from duodenum (in rat/mouse). does anyone have an idea how to do so.any cell- types in stomach which react different than duodenum( vice versa). it would be great to get an answer from you. thanks in advance.

Stomach and duodenum are easily differentiated on H&E.

You need to find a histology book for mouse/rat. It will have an entire chapter on the microanatomy of the gastrointestinal tract.

If a species specific book cannot be found, get a human histology book to point you in the right direction of what glands, cells, and structures distinguish stomach from duodenum.

This is a link to a website on histology: http://www.lab.anhb.uwa.edu.au/mb140/CorePages/GIT/git.htm

thank you, for this interesting link. i have to check the whole text (i'm not a native speaker   ) and see how much it can help me. the thing is, we're looking for findings in the transition- area(  stomach- pylorus- duodenum) where sometimes tumours arise and we're not sure( to be honest, my boss isn't sure) what was the origin. additionaly we want to make photos, where even a layman is able to see differences. some more ideas?
thank you
