Cytospin cell loss
« on: July 05, 2006, 07:36:07 PM »
Hi,
I am using a rather old Shandon Cytospin here at our lab. I have heard some comments about it losing cells due to bad balancing.
Anyhow, it has been working for me so far when I was using high cell numbers. Getting into low range I start noticing that when for example my loading estimate is about 40,000 cells I get only about 1,500 cells on the slide. Since I may to spin even fewer cells in the future, I am worrying that none of them may make it   .
Does any of you having used Cytospin have any experience with cytospinning small cell numbers, or know the normal parameters of cell loss in this technique?

Many thanks ;)
