Prot K - Stock Solution Preparation
« on: March 10, 2008, 12:04:56 PM »
Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some advice for preparation of a proteinase K stock solution.  I've checked out the protease AR protocol on IHC World, where the recommended reconstitution is in TE buffer.  However, the manufacturer of my proteinase K (Invitrogen) recommends reconsituting in 10 mM Tris HCL, pH7.5, 20 mM calcium chloride, and 50% glycerol if it is to be stored at -20 deg C.

Any comments or experience with either type of reconstitution protocol?

Many thanks,
Katie

TE buffer works just fine for me. Invitrogen protocol may be also good.
