DAKO high pH target retrieval solution
« on: July 24, 2009, 11:50:52 AM »
The protocol for this solution states that it needs to be heated to 96 C. My lab does not have a water bath that gets that hot. Has anyone used a microwave and boiled this solution with their slides.

Steamer is good heating source that can maintain 96 C very well.

I agree, I am all about the steamer. You can buy one for 10-15 bucks at Walmart, Kmart etc. Works like a CHARM with the DAKO buffers.

You can try the thin stainless pot to boil. And use the electromagnetic tray as the heat source. Treat the slide inside pot for 20 min after the solution boiled.
