colocalized but not overlapping analysis
« on: September 21, 2009, 05:49:23 PM »
Hi,
I'm running into an issue with quantifying  my confocal images and was hoping that maybe someone could guide me to an article or something like that who had a similar issue. I am looking at two cellular organelles and their colocalization and finding that one marker is inside of another but without actual overlap, which is what we anticipated, but I don't know how to handle the quantification because there is not pixel overlap, but quantification is necessary becuase there is not 100% colocalization. I tried to attach a picture, but it is too large. Think of a granule within a vacuole--so there is a circle with a dot inside of it but without touching, so I need some sort of proximal colocalization analysis. I really appreciate any suggestions.
