p16 staining on Thin-Prep: cells broken up
« Reply #17 on: May 28, 2003, 09:53:52 PM »
Hi,
I did P16 staining on Thin-prep cell smear, and the staining came out positive, but for some reason it looks like the cells that took up the antibody, therefore the stain, got all broken up.
what could have this been caused by?
COuld it have been due to improper fixation?
My slides were fiexed in 95%ethanol for 3 days, airdried for 3 hours and then refrigerated until the IHC time before which they were post fixed in formalin for 10 mins.
Thanks for any input.

Jean
