Borate Buffer (disodium Tetraborate) in Brd-U IHC
« on: January 27, 2011, 04:21:05 PM »
Hi all,
I am trying to do BrdU immunohistochemistry, and nearly every protocol I've found calls for a borate buffer wash step directly after the HCl step (in order to neutralize the acid).  Usually, this is Borax or some other sodium borate compound.  If the only purpose of this step is to neutralize the acid, are there other chemicals I can substitute for the borate buffer?
Thanks.
