Does anybody know of any literature and/or resources about internal (built in) tissue controls on IHC stains?

It all very much depends on your antibody of interest.  I.E. for eNOS or alpha Smooth muscle cell actin, we can use small blood vessels in the tissue matrix...

Thanks for your f/b. Specifically, I'm interested in ER, PR, Ki-67, p53, TS, mostly prognostic markers. Would you know of any reading material?

NordiQC is helpful for internal controls. They provide at least positivity of several antibodies in normal tissue.

If someone could build up an IHC-bank with multiple antibodies and even more tissue-species with various positivity, that would be a lifelong work. Worth for the Nobel Prize.
