help with interpretation of staining

(1/1)

derm81:
Hi,
I have attached an image of IHC staining of the skin. Could some one please tell me if the TGF-B1 staining in the granular layer is cytoplasmic, extracellular or both?

CanuckPhD:
I personally can't help you interpret your staining unless you also show your IgG control. This may be false positive due to inadequate peroxidase quenching or non-specific binding of antibody. So please attach your IgG control (not just a no primary control) and we might be able to assist you.

derm81:
thank you for you're reply. here it is

CanuckPhD:
Your IgG control looks negative. From this picture to me the staining looks cytoplasmic. However, without sitting at the microscope and looking closely, this is just an opinion. Is this normal skin or UV exposed skin?
