S100 in frozen sections
(1/1)
JMorand:
I have been trying to use S100 to label schwann cells in peripheral nerve frozen sections. The labeling for the antibody (from Dako) says that the staining will not work well for frozen sections but my PI claims he's done it in the past. So far it is only staining sutures and neurotubes and not actual tissue. I've only tried it once so far but I thought I would put this up asking for suggestions before I run it again. I used a dilution rate of 1:400 for the S100, double labelled against SMI31 in one case and double labeled against GAP43 on another set of slides. Both the SMI31 and GAP43 looked fine so I don't think I totally botched the staining.
Thanks for your help,
Joe

Did he/she the staining with the same antibody? same protocol?
