Mouse Heart Histology

Hi everyone,

We are trying to use H&E staining to detect tissue damage in mice hearts after an acute terminal surgical procedure. Our procedure lasts about 1 hour, and we are using 2-photon microscopy to image in vivo. We want to try to see whether the heart is being damaged as a result of our procedure.

Is H&E staining sensitive enough to detect acute damage (~1-2 hours) if we fix the hearts directly after the procedure?
