DRD1 Antibody suggestion for Accumbens staining
« on: December 01, 2014, 01:10:53 PM »
Hello,

I am trying to do a immunohistochemistry for DRD1 in the Nucleus accumbens (Acb) region. I have tried Abcam (ab78021) and Millipore (MAB5290) with different dilutions ranging from 1:50 - 1:500 for Abcam and 1:100 - 1:500 for millipore. But none seems to work in the Acb and neither in the cortex (+ve control). I do a double immuno with Zif268 which works pretty well.

Therefore, Could you please suggest for DRD1 antibody suggestions that works in the Acb region and general suggestions as well.

Hi,
I recommend to search in a free antibody database provided by www.labome.com. Regarding the antibodies to DRD1, you may check the following link: http://www.labome.com/review/gene/human/DRD1-antibody.html. In particular, Sigma-Aldrich has rat monoclonal (1-1-F11 s.E6) antibody suitable for IHC on mouse tissues (dilution 1:250) (reference: Biezonski et al., J Comp Neurol 2015). For IHC on human tissues, ProSci (https://www.prosci-inc.com/search/?q=drd1) offers rabbit polyclonal antibody 48-241 (reference: Pyne-Geithman et al., Neurocrit Care 2009). Hope this comment is helpful.
