Hi all!

Does anyone know of antibodies specific for macrophages that will work on CEA transgenic mice bred on a C57/BL6 background? I've read that MAC-3 will work on C57's. Will the transgenic nature of our mice somehow block the antibodies ability to work? Are there other ones that are more specific? Thanks!

rat anti-mouse CD68 from Serotec works very well on C57/BL6 mouse tissue.  I use Dako's ready to use Prot. K for 5 min. as a pretreatment step and use a three step amplification technique;  anti-CD68 followed by rabbit anti-rat (Vector mouse adsorbed), followed by Envision+ HRP, Rabbit.  I find this three step procedure is extremely sensitive and gives no background staining.
