Recipient Block

The manual tissue microarrayer called 'Quick Ray' offer the researchers to extract the sample tissues from Donor blocks and insert the extracted tissues to the correspondent hole of the premade recipient blocks.

The Quick-Ray set comes with one puncher, 5 tips of each size, and recipient blocks of each size, a base mold, and a guide for 1mm recipient block.

A tissue puncher is assembled with changeable tips of different diameters. Currently, 5 different sizes are available: 1, 1.5, 2, 3, and 5 mm in diameters.

The patented recipient block is made of a special material that melts when heated at about 70oC for 30~60 minutes. The recipient block has evenly spaced round orifices (holes) arranged in a square matrix (array). Five different recipient blocks are currently available:

10 x 12 holes of 1mm in diameter

Automated Tissue Microarrayer UATM-272A

The Automated Tissue Microarrayer is an instrument which can pick up the sample tissue from the donor blocks and insert the sample into the correspondent hole of the premade recipient block automatically.

The computer aided Quick Ray Master(UATM-272A) is the integrated tissue microarrayer running by Windows XP and operating by the touch screen with LCD monitor, and is also connected to the external monitors, USB keyboard and USB mouse. Also, the quick help function key is available for various tips including instructions on saving image files and reporting the information of recipient blocks through an external USB memory and an external PC with LAN interface.

Quick Ray Master helps the researchers to decrease the time and labor in creating the blocks by using the pre-made recipient blocks to be supplied by UNITMA. A function of the rotary typed tip module consisting of 3 tips sized 1mm, 2mm and 3mm offer the automatic change of the desired tip by using the software as the researchers' option.

Automated Tissue Microarrayer UATM-272B

The Quick Ray Master UATM-272B is a newly developed tissue microarrayer running by simply connecting to user's computer through USB port. The instrument is running with the unique UNITMA S/W based on Window7 of user's PC. The changeable tips for the desired core size of the recipient blocks have 4 different hole sizes which are 1mm(120 holes), 1.5mm(90 holes), 2mm(60 holes), and 3mm(30 holes). UATM-272B is designed to be smarter than UATM-272A but it is very easy for users to be familiar with the instrument.

Quick Ray Master helps the researchers to decrease the time and labor in creating the blocks by using the pre-made recipient blocks to be supplied by UNITMA.

Premade recipient blocks as consumables are purchasable from UNITMA.

Premade Recipient Block (Consumables)

                1mm          1.5mm           2mm            3mm            5mm

UNITMA provides the premade recipient blocks developed by the very innovative way and patented in global. It saves the valuable time and cost in creating the recipient blocks additionally before starting TMA work.

The premade recipient block is made of special material which melts when heated at about 70 °C for 30~60minutes. The blocks have evenly spaced round orifices (wells) arranged in a square matrix which conforms to digital pathology trend.

Currently, five different sized blocks are available.

- 120 holes of 1mm in diameter

- 90 holes of 1.5mm in diameter

- 60 holes of 2mm in diameter

- 30 holes of 3mm in diameter

- 20 holes of 5mm in diameter

Features

  • High slide production success rate
  • Maintain tissue specimen in good condition during embedding process
  • High throughput from cutting (more than 300 slices from a block)
  • High durability during tissue insertion and cutting process
  • Easy image management through recipient block standardization
  • Saving the additional time in preparation of recipient blocks

The blocks are to be delivered in a single package to prevent from possible damage and/or deterioration during transportation and storage.

Recipient Block Mold Kit

For those who concerns over the price of premade recipient blocks, Recipient mold Kit is an alternative solution.  Made from silicon material, Recipient Mold kit allows users to build paraffin recipient blocks by themselves at a lower cost.  The core sizes of each mold perfectly match with punchers of manual tissue microarrayer.  If stored and handed with care, hundreds of paraffin blocks can be produced by the Recipient mold Kit.

Paraffin Block Trimmer

The Paraffin Block Trimmer (generally called Wax Trimmer, Paraffin Trimmer, Wax Remover, Paraffin Remover, Dewaxer etc) is one of the histology equipment using for the research.

The Paraffin Block Trimmer enables the researchers to trim the paraffin blocks automatically. This instrument removes only paraffin residues around the paraffin blocks without damage to the tissue samples or the plastic cassette.

When users load the paraffin blocks finished the embedding process, the blocks moves to trim the paraffin residues into the instrument and the trimmed block is discharged from the outlet of the instrument.

Eventually, this instrument also enables to save the research time and to prevent the users from any injuries caused by the conventional trimming way.
