ABC of Safety in the Biological Sciences
DIAZONIUM SALTS
Prepared by the action of nitrous acid on aromatic primary amines in solution, diazonium salts are very unstable and violently explosive when isolated in the dry form. Stable double salts usually precipitated from solutions by the addition of heavy metal halides to form non-metallic halides may be dried and stored without danger.9
