FUMING CHEMICALS

Some chemicals, such as bromine, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, nitric acid and oleum produce fumes9 emit toxic fumes (see also Fumes). It is important to store such chemicals in places where there is adequate ventilation to dissipate the vapours without causing corrosive damage. Separate cabinets connected to the ventilation system in the laboratory and fitted with corrosion proof trays are recommended.
