ABC of Safety in the Biological Sciences
GLASS SLIDES
Glass slides are handled in large numbers in medical laboratories and therefore the potential for accidents is high. The most common injuries involving glass slides are cut fingers, penetrating skin wounds from slivers of glass or glass chips in the eyes.
Using glass slides with a ground edge and rounded corners and wearing rubber gloves and safety glasses will reduce the risk of glass associated injuries.
