HEAD INJURY

A person who has a head or neck injury must be kept still10until the extent of the injury has been assessed by a medical practitioner unless an emergency situation exists which immediately threatens life.

Procedure to follow:
1. Stabilise the victim's head (this also applies if the victim is unconscious).
2. If the victim is not breathing, apply artificial respiration but avoid moving the head and neck.
