SALMONELLA INFECTIONS IN AUTOPSY ROOMS

If an autopsy is required on an individual suspected of having Salmonella, due care must be exercised when opening and washing out the bowel. All abdominal organs should be returned to the body at the completion of the autopsy.84 All surfaces, gully traps, drains, gloves, boots, instruments and any other equipment used must be adequately disinfected.91
