Histopathology Artifacts Quiz
ANSWER CASE 11
This Micrograph shows perivascular separation of dense nervous
tissue at the junction of the adventitia and glial membrane. It is
due to poor fixation and can largely be avoided by perfusion
fixation and gentle, prolonged processing using chloroform as a
clearing agent. A similar effect can frequently be seen around large
neurones. Give yourself one mark if your answer is perivascular
shrinkage.
